These shoes look worn

but they're brand new

They speak of character

some 'soul-shoe-glue'

and who can say

where these shoes will go

who they'll meet

who they'll show

what steps they'll take

what promises they'll brake

what lives they'll change

who's priorities they'll re-arrange

if only one other soul in this whole wide world

meets the person in these average shoes

my heart will rest easy my soul be peace news

my prayer for these shoes

that the person within

who steps and trodds

on God's green earth

will then take His love to heart

and share with the world

why there's comfort in these shoes

and nothing but good news

for the broken hearted

the poor in spirit

and this little peacemaker

will run in these shoes

towards stages,

towards mics'

towards the lost

towards the children

who need to hear

why there's comfort

and hope

peace, forever
